We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Consultant to join our team of Neonatologists at the Children's Hospital within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post holder will have appropriate experience in neonatology and will either have a CCST/CCT in Paediatrics (Neonatal Medicine) or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent.

Main duties of the job

The Neonatal service within Nottingham is a single service that comprises two tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care Units based at Nottingham City Hospital and the Queen's Medical Centre.

Both these Neonatal Intensive Care Units are part of the East Midlands Operational Delivery Network (EM-ODN) and are lead centres for its northern hub.

The full range of medical neonatal intensive care is provided at both sites apart from ECMO.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at QMC also provides the services for neonatal surgery, including ENT and neurosurgery for the network and neonatal intensive care for the quaternary renal service.

The Nottingham Neonatal Service is linked closely with the Regional Fetal Medicine service that operates on both sites.

Both campuses of the Nottingham Neonatal Service share staff, guidelines, education, clinical research and clinical governance. The 'Passport to Health Scheme' for determining outcomes at follow up and combined Annual report demonstrate that the service views itself as one entity

The Service provides the regional neonatal surgical and tertiary medical neonatal intensive care services.

Our two well-equipped and developed Neonatal Units have state of the art equipment, including integrated clinical monitoring, high frequency oscillation, inhaled nitric oxide and portable ultrasound.
