Plate Processing Department in
Kitts Green .

Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure loss intelligence within the department is accurately collected and collated.
- Use loss intelligence to plan improvement projects focused on cost reduction, improving throughput / volume, recovery, and quality improvements.
- Ensure business tools are used to improve and sustain departmental KPI's (VPM, OEE, Problem Solving, scrap etc.).
- Drive Hoshin and area business review related activities are kept up to date. Participate in QBR, and be involved with customer visits and audits.
- Actively support the FMEA process to drive quality improvements.
- Communicate departmental performance to shop floor operational teams and drive team engagement.
- Develop and guide Plate coordinators (TPM, TQ, quality, EHS and training) and assist in succession planning for production operatives into senior positions within the organization.
- Be responsible for the generation of TQ projects and drive change within the department.
- Work with the central improvement team across site to deliver improvements across the manufacturing environment.
Key Objectives
- Establish and maintain the department shift coordinator structure.
- Deliver on improvement projects that improve efficiency and / or decease costs.
- Work within a continuous improvement (CI) team built up of each Manufacturing area Process Leader with the goal of aligning corporate, site and department Continuous Improvement standards
- Be able to manage your time effectively between Plate area and site CI activity and projects.
Basic Qualifications
And/or
- Relevant manufacturing experience (e.g. industrial, aluminium ).
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in a process, mechanical, or relevant manufacturing qualification.
And/or
- Six Sigma green / black belt.
And/or
- Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
