The job itself:

Support Worker required for our 19-year-old daughter, to help her at University. She is currently studying a Foundation Degree in Animal Management at Bishop Burton and work takes place on the animal unit, so you will need to be comfortable around a wide range of animals


38 hours per week for 38 weeks (term time) and 10 hours per week for 10 weeks (holidays) plus additional hours for weekend cover as required.

Likely to be 4 days a week to support at university (9-5) and 6 hours on the 5th day.


Our daughter is a full-time wheelchair user, and the main tasks are to assist with getting equipment out of her bag and set up for lectures and toileting via use of a hoist.


Outside of University, our daughter is keen on sports and crafts, and the time spent away from university would be accompanying on days out or doing crafts at home.

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
