Description
The Key Responsibluities:
- Responsibility for end to end payroll process ensuring all employees are paid accurately each month.
- Work closely with the Human Resources department to ensure all starters, leavers and other changes are processed timely and accurately.
- Respond to employees queries on payroll and pensions.
- Maintain relationship with HMRC and ensure all PAYE and National Insurance is reported and paid on time.
- Produce, check and issue all payroll documentation including payslips, P60s, P45s and P11Ds.
- Liaise with third party pensions administrators regarding all pension's issues.
- Maintain records for all pension funds including Teachers Pension Scheme.
- Manage audit process for Teachers' Pension Scheme.
- Administer private medical health care scheme including liaison with third party providers.
- Responsibility for verification of staff data for autoenrolment into pension scheme.
- Membership of the defined contribution pension scheme Governance Committee.
- Preparation and submission of quarterly payroll returns to Office of National Statistics.
- Completion and submission to HMRC of annual PAYE Settlement Agreement return.
- Administer death in service benefit provision including liaison with third party providers.
- Preparation of annual salary budgets including discussions and correspondence with the Finance Director, Semester, High Master and Head of St Paul's Juniors.
- Responsibility for School's annual gender pay gap reporting process.
- Reports and updates for Human Resources department for National Minimum Wage and London Living Wage.
- Ad hoc projects as required.
Profile
- knowledge and experience of payroll including pensions
- Must be currently up to date with legislation and regulations impacting payroll.
- Highly efficient, have the skills to be able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, to be able to communicate with staff who have different skill sets, including nonfinancial staff.
- Positive attitude, ability to work flexibly and committed team player.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with discretion at all times, pride in privacy for confidential information
- Experience in a School environment
- Experience of the integrated MHR iTrent HR and payroll system
- Strong IT skills, including Excel
