Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre
Full time, 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm
Permanent
£23,441.83 per annum


Yarl's Wood IRC (Immigration Removal Centre) is a fully contained residential centre housing adult women and adult family groups awaiting immigration clearance.

We focus on decency and respect in all aspects of care for our residents and use continuous innovation to further improve and develop our service.

Within the centre we accommodate an everchanging population from a variety of backgrounds, all with different faiths, beliefs, and cultural values.

We have an opening for a Stores Operative to join our Catering team.

The key purpose of this role is to ensure all catering deliveries are checked put away, stock rotated and all catering store areas are kept clean and tidy, To assist the chef in the preparation of daily menu and running of the kitchen area.

At all times, Kitchen & catering store Assistants will act as a positive role model to all residents, treating all with whom he/she meets respect and decency.

Catering Assistants will demonstrate commitment to working as part of the Yarl's Wood IRC Team in support of the Centre Vision and delivery of the Contract.


Other duties include:

Assisting the chef in the daily production of food Check deliveries against purchase orders and highlight any problems. Dealing with stock invoice queries Monitoring stock movement within the catering department To assist the catering manager in all aspects of running the kitchen


What you need to do the job:

This is an opportunity for an individual who would like to work as part of a busy and fast paced catering team.

Furthermore, the role is physically demanding as there is lifting of boxes containing heavy food items daily.
The role requires good organisation and the ability to work as part of a team and individually where required.
