Job DescriptionManpower are currently looking for an interim Hair Stylist and Salon Supervisor to join our global FMCG client Unilever. This role is based at the client's Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, offering easy access by train and car. It's a temporary position lasting for 12 months, with 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The compensation is competitive, up to £25,955 per year depending on experience.
Delivering Superior Brand Experiences is a top priority for Unilever's Hair category. The hair salon located within the research and development facility plays a crucial role in creating innovative products and enhancements that excite consumers and give the company a competitive edge.
The salon and sensory capability within the Consumer Technical Insight team are essential components of the research and development team. The focus is on assisting brand and category designers in developing consumer-oriented products by evaluating hair care items and assessing their performance with consumers or mannequin heads.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about collaborating with a dedicated team to provide salon-derived data and insights that influence new hair product development.

Key Accountabilities:
- Follow standardized methods to evaluate and provide feedback on various hair care products.
- Supervise daily salon operations, ensuring a seamless workflow and maintaining excellent consumer service.
- Support the training and mentoring of current and new assessors, fostering a collaborative and innovative workspace.
- Enforce salon policies to maintain consistency and quality in service delivery.
- Keep the salon space clean, organized, and professional to enhance the consumer experience.
- Collaborate with salon management to introduce enhancements and new approaches.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated hairstyling experience with a keen interest in hair products and trends.
- NVQ level 2 or 3 qualification.
- Preferably, previous experience in supervision or leadership.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic IT proficiency (MS Word and Excel).
- Capability to train and inspire a team of stylists.
