You will be responsible for the dealing with general correspondence, incoming post and reports, providing secretarial and administrative support to the Diabetes Specialist Nurses, including typing of clinical letters and documentation, as well as undertaking general administrative duties within the Team and office environment.
You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, be flexible in approach, and be able to demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.
You must be hard working, possess good oral and written communication skills, have good computer skills and be flexible to the needs of the department and in turn you will receive a competitive and flexible benefits package.

- Type all clinical correspondence according to clinical priority in line with agreed standards of speed and accuracy and within the locally and nationally agreed timeframes.
- Promptly file case notes, correspondence and investigation results.
- Ensure that all correspondence is checked and signed (manual or digital) signed by the appropriate consultant.
- Email clinical correspondence to GP/originating referrer and send copy letters to patients.
- To prioritise own workload appropriately, referring any service concerns to the medical secretaries (or clinical support manager) in a timely manner.
- Maintain good relationships with members of staff, ensuring a high degree of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
- Answer internal and external telephone queries from staff, patients and others.
- Communicates with a range of staff, users and visitors to the Trust/Department utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic and passing information in a format that is appropriate to the individual request.
- Organise incoming and outgoing, referring enquiries to appropriate person if necessary.
- All data is entered onto database / spreadsheets in a timely manner and is accurate.
- Files are located in a timely manner and tracked to appropriate places.
