Description

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our collaborative and innovative ophthalmology team.

This is a permanent post for a glaucoma sub-specialist consultant to contribute to all aspects of glaucoma care in our busy glaucoma service.

The successful post holder will work collaboratively with our lead glaucoma consultant to deliver state of the art glaucoma care.

The glaucoma service comprises 2 arms: a virtual clinic with diagnostics followed by optometrist case review, and the medical arm with face to face care. The medical team deliver a comprehensive glaucoma service including tube surgery and MIGS. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the support of the optometry staff and the virtual service.

The ophthalmology unit has a growing portfolio of clinical trials and research studies, most of which are adopted on the NIHR portfolio.

In the past 3 years, our research team have been the top recruiting site for 3 national trials and received excellence in research delivery awards from the Trust and the North West London Clinical Research Network.

Currently there are 15 studies in set-up or follow-up stages.

One of the active studies is a glaucoma trial and we would like the new post holder to actively pursue expansion of this portfolio.
