As this post is suitable for both Consultant Psychiatrists and/or other registered disciplines, the salary offered will either be Consultant Psychiatrist (£93,666 - £126,281 pro rata, per annum) or Band 9 (£99,891 - £114,949 pro rata, per annum).


As Clinical Lead you will provide strong clinical and operational leadership across the South East Region Perinatal Provider Collaborative (PC).

You will work closely with senior management, experts by experience and specialist perinatal clinicians to lead on clinical transformation across the collaborative in line with the strategic vision and aims of the PC, ensuring delivery of safe and high quality perinatal mental health pathway for the population of the South East Region.


You will support the team in developing and delivering a clinical strategy in line with the vision and aims for the South East Region Perinatal PC, and establishing improvement plans for the development of quality, tailored to meet local needs.

This includes a focus on maintaining high standards, and providing preventative and holistic, person-centred care and will be underpinned by collaborative working and whole-pathway oversight, ensuring community provision is maintained as an alternative to admission and ensuring inpatient care is closer to home.


The Clinical Lead is required to foster strong relationships with stakeholders and providers to support development of clinical practice and whole system pathways across the region and promote clinical quality.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust - Clover Ward MBU 8 bed

To foster and promote a culture of clinical engagement and influence ensuring the work is clinically led.

Strengthen stakeholder relationships across the whole pathway (health, social and VCSE), enhancing shared learning.

Lead on patient, carer, family and staff engagement within the South East Region


As the post holder will be expected to travel to Dartford and Winchester in a timely manner, a full UK driving licence and access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

With and informed by the MBU's lead nurse, clinical staff, and other senior leaders seek opportunities to challenge and improve practice in all areas including clinical quality, patient experience and operational effectiveness and put remedial actions in place to ensure and evidence improvement and demonstrate that quality and safety are of the utmost priority in the daily operation of the MBU's.

Ensure that services are delivered in a patient centred manner and maintain compliance with Professional standards

To offer supervision and line management to Higher Trainees placed within the PC leadership

Ensure that the PC Leadership Team has full and accurate clinical information from the South East Regio collaborative to support governance arrangements and performance monitoring


To have an overview of activity across the collaborative and to ensure that there are robust arrangements to deal promptly and appropriately with referrals.

Ensure all professional and clinical safety requirements of the service are met.
