The Role


We are looking for a Resident who has good administration, customer service, communication, and IT skills (we use the MS Office Suite).

Reliable, flexible, and professional you will need to have an understanding of working in an office environment and be interested in developing your administration and customer service skills.


You will have the opportunity to learn about the day-to-day activities required to manage the Southern Housing's responsive repairs / maintenance services, complaints management service and service improvement model.

Working alongside the Property Service Complaints Team and reporting to the Property Service Complaints Manager you will assist in providing a high standard of customer service to internal and external customers and carry out administration tasks and assist on specific projects as required.

To be considered for our paid work placement opportunities you must have the right to work in the UK. Our roles may also require travel between our various offices and hubs.

The location

Due to the nature of the role, this role is offered as a combined office / home working opportunity. Weekend working is not required.

Depending on where you live, you will be based either at our Head Office, Fleet House, London, or our Maidstone Office in Kent.

Days to be worked per week, including when required to be in the office will be agreed on appointment.

Please note:

If you live in Kent, you will be based at our Maidstone Office and will need access to a car to commute.

What you'll have- At least 2 GCSE passes at grade "C" or above (or equivalent)

including Maths and English- Good administration skills- Some experience in a customer service role Good written and verbal communication skills, telephone manner and listening skills- Good organisational skills- Committed to providing a quality customer service- Ability to follow instructions and carry out tasks as required- Be punctual and reliable- Ability to remain calm and polite, and deal with customers in


pressurised situations- Ability to complete administration processes to quality standards and in a timely manner- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently- Be a great team player.

Having a flexible, supportive approach to colleagues- Ability to take a responsible approach to routine work whilst maintaining high standards
