What is the job about?


As the FM Supervisor, you will be responsible to oversee the operations and maintenance of the facilities across our North East sites, taking charge to plan both cyclical and reactive maintenance activities.

The main objective is to ensure that the facilities are well-maintained, safe, and efficient to support the smooth functioning of the business.


You will lead and guide our FM team promoting an engaged and positive culture while maintaining an efficient cleaning operation.

This will include supervising both a day and back shift.

You will also be expected to assume the responsibilities of the team, as and when required, to meet business needs and manage the allocation of cleaning hours to make sure that all areas of responsibility receive efficient cleaning and waste management services.

What exactly will you do?

  • Lead the Cleaning team to ensure there is a positive, motivational, supportive working environment.
  • Ensure advanced planning of all cleaning operations including periodic tasks with clear schedules and sign off of all duties and tasks complete.
  • Ensuring excellence for cleaning operations throughout site.
  • Support the FM Operatives with their cleaning schedule and be flexible to meet the changing operational needs of the business.
  • Suggest new initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and best practice are continually delivered.
  • Take full ownership and manage all cleaning feedback or complaints.
  • Ensure the cleaning team are equipped and have the knowledge to positively impact the experience for all colleagues.
  • To control the delivery of the colleague's rosters, completion of payroll and correct staffing levels ensuring compliance is always maintained.
  • Lead and advise the team in managing absence and holiday records including sickness and annual leave for all colleagues, and complete daily time keeping reports and performance management where needed, highlighting any areas of training and or development needed.
  • Carry out and manage daily site audits to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safe environment is always evident throughout area of operations.
  • Manage and support recruitment, induction training and development of colleagues.
  • Manage supplier and landlord relationships, including working with external subcontractors, ensuring appropriate risk assessments are completed.
  • Ensure compliance with First Aid and Fire Safety.
  • Ensure adequate quality performance measures (KPI's/SLA's) are adhered to and any noncompliance is resolved in a professional manner with clear plans and next steps visible to all.
  • Implement and maintain effective cost control measures, including analysing expenses, negotiating contracts, identifying costsaving opportunities, and implementing efficiency initiatives, to optimise facilityrelated expenditures and achieve budgetary goals.
  • Work with the Health and Safety Advisor and Business Support Hub in ensuring any SLT actions are delivered as per instruction and meet the requested standards.
  • Ensure effective communication including meetings, handovers, and reporting.
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly business progress meetings and team meetings as required.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company policies and procedures, maintaining the required standards at all times.
