Purpose of the Post
The Registrar will be responsible for the daily internal administration of the College and provision of prompt and accurate service to students, alumni, faculty, administration and external agencies.
You will work closely with the Programme Administration team in providing support to Programme academic teams in all aspects of administration that support teaching and learning activities in line with the academic calendar.
Putting students first, all functions directly impact the student experience which is reflected in internal and external benchmarks.You will be expected to collaborate and interact with designated professional service staff from across the College to provide an efficient and responsive service to academic staff.
Excellent liaison and organisational skills are a priority in order to assist with processes across professional services to provide a seamless service delivery to the Colleges staff and students.
You will be expected to act fairly, with integrity, respect and purpose.You will also be expected to contribute to the continual improvement of processes by identifying areas for improvement; by actively contributing to problem solving activities and by promoting a culture of ongoing improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting academic programmes in line with college (and Partner Institution) regulations,processes and quality standards and providing front line support to programme teams.
- Contribute to / oversee the smooth running of student related activities including but not exclusive to: registration, enrolment, induction and assessment; providing programme teams with data to support activities.
- Provide a high and comprehensive level of administrative support to the programme teams including support at programme development or cluster meetings.
- Maintain oversight of daily workloads and distribution of activity across the programme administration team.
To be responsible for all aspects of compliance across the College, to include strategic management information and writing strategic reports
To lead and manage a compliance team that will be responsible for both domestic and international compliance requirements.
To provide senior management with regular updates relating to sponsorship of tier 4 international students.
To undertake College level committee work and other special responsibilities, both inside and outside the university, as directed from time to time by the Head of Quality and Standards / Operations
Ensure compliance with the responsibilities of the College's UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Tier 4 sponsorship licence and to act as the College's Key Contact for all licences Programme Management and Support
Lead and manage activity to ensure that aspects of programme data management (i.e term dates, assessment schedule) is up to date and published in line with the academic calendar.
Provide support to students to resolve timetable queries during the welcome period
Support welcome week activity by assisting programme teams at induction events and by participating in scheduled activities
Lead and manage module registration activities including on the VLE
Support programme retention initiatives e.g. attendance monitoring and managing changes during the academic year
Oversee the management of student enquiries and coordinate student communications on behalf of the programme teams
Direct programme teams to relevant institutional, regulatory and procedural guidance as appropriate
Support programme teams as required where professional body relationships exist
To ensure that assessment deadlines are available to students in line with threshold requirements
To support the organisation and servicing of assessment boards, supporting the exam paper moderation processes and external examiner sample pack processes as required
To support Module Leaders to communicate resit information to students and to keep a central record of component mark grids
To manage the setup of in class tests and invigilation as required
To manage graduation activity as required
Person Specifications:
Educated to Degree level, or equivalent relevant experience in a similar or related role(s),demonstrating development through a series of progressively more demanding work/roles.
Relevant professional qualification
- Minimum 1.5 to 3 years of experience in handling an Academics Registry Supervisor/Team Leader role.
- A robust understanding of the QAA Quality Code, Tier 4 compliance and general HE regulations.
