Description

The primary function of this job will be to identify, assess and mitigate any operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operationalefficiency.

Job Requirements

Contribute in developing, implementing and monitoring a risk based program to identify, assess and mitigate any operational risk that arises within the EMEA region.
To maintain internal control standards, including timely mitigation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external auditors.
Support the operation of the EMEA governance structures and attend appropriate governance committees.
Coordinate with centralized data management administrator within the US team to define regional reporting requirements.
Enhance oversight and credible challenge of business risks and effectiveness of controls in RCSA process administered by the business. Cross train to support depth of coverage within ORM team.
Develop and deliver training around lessons learned from internal and external events.
Manage and provide guidance to less experienced operational risk consultants.

Skills and Experience Required

Extensive experience within Banking and Finance industry, with a significant amount of experience in Operational Risk.
Knowledge of operations, including CASS, middle office, back office and settlement functions.
Knowledge of lending operations and operating models.
Exposure to the performance of Operational Risk identification/assessments (RCSA and Basel III) and the identification of setting risk indicators.
Knowledge of operational risk methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to build partnering relationships across the company at all levels (persuasive, good listener and assimilator of ideas and perspectives).
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
Operational Risk qualification a plus.
