Job description:

DBS delivers a broad range of services to Defence, supported by the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Enabling Pillar. Release and Environments Management is part of Change Delivery Services within CIO.


The main duties are:


  • Ensure integrity of environments to enable all software changes to be successfully deployed.
  • Forecasting overtime requirements, organising the staff requirements for each release to the satisfaction of the customers and technical staff.
  • Acting as the Environments and Release Subject Matter Expert at various meetings.
  • Ensuring all governance documentation is kept up to date.
  • Working in the Oracle Cloud environments.
  • Planning and forward planning for releases.

Person specification:


Desirable Criteria

  • ITIL Foundation qualification

Experience

  • Of Release management
  • Working in an IT Release, such as Cloud deployment environment
  • Working with various stakeholders and managing customer expectations
  • Working to flexible, tight timescales
  • Working with high volumes of change to meet a Release
  • Detail focused
