Position Overview**:


Reporting to the Director, Linguistics Operations & Quality Review and as an integral part of Questel's Language Solutions Team, this role is responsible to review localization, life science and legal documents that have been translated from English into other languages, or foreign language documents into other foreign languages, for all clients.

It is also responsible to ensure the highest quality of products for delivery.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Perform reviews and edits as necessary
  • Work with translators to identify and correct errors in English language files
  • Balance multiple review projects and prioritize accordingly based on deadlines and workload
  • Communicate larger quality concerns to project managers so they can be addressed appropriately
  • Ensure all nonlinguistic components in the translation match those in the source
  • Assist project managers in ensuring timely delivery for all projects
  • Perform quality control jobs consisting of QC checks, which include light formatting and completion
  • Perform monolingual reviews
  • Assess the quality of target text to ensure proper grammar and syntax for optimum readability
  • Ensure formatting and completion requirements are followed in accordance with client instructions
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

Or any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous proofreading or copyediting experience preferred
  • Strong computer and DTP skills
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Detailoriented, analytical, thorough, and able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Strong ability to work independently, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluency in a second language, other than English, is preferred but not required

Supervision is provided by the Director, Linguistics Operations & Quality Review
