Description

As a General Assistant within the Machine Shop, you will take a customer service approach with a view that the services you provide are there to support the efficient management of your workspace and whole facility.

As a General Assistant, your duties will be varied and will include activities that support other departments and personnel, such as cleaning, lifting, moving, and offering general assistance and support to the site team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate designated machines safely and competently, ensuring that all HSE and housekeeping standards are maintained.
Carry out designated tasks as instructed.
Minimize waste by using/disposing of raw materials and consumable items efficiently
Assist in keeping the facility in a clean and safe state at all times.
Assist machine operators as and when required.
Assist Fitting department when required.
Assist Maintenance department when required.
Make sure workflow is maximized by moving components to the correct stations.
Assist management team when required by having the flexibility to assist other facilities within the Tuboscope site such as the Yard, Inspection and TK Liner to carry out general work activities e.g. pipe cleaning, tidying work areas.
Demonstrate awareness of company objectives, policies, and procedures.
Promote and adhere to health and safety policies and procedures without exception.
Ensure all company policies surrounding, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met.
Adheres to inspection criteria, policies, and procedures without exception.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualifications

Educated to High School or equivalent education(essential)

Experience:

Working knowledge within a similar position
Relevant training will be given.

Quality Assurance

Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.

Training

Participate in training where required.

Health, Safety and Environment

Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
