Description
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Dental Nurse to join our Public Dental Service (PDS) to provide patient-centred dental support in NHS Dumfries & Galloway.
This unique opportunity will see you providing direct and indirect support to both patients and the clinical team. The position is within our Scottish Emergency Dental Service (SEDS) providing clinics from Dumfries Dental Centre.The post holder would be required to work 7.5 hours per weekend, 1 weekend in 4 and work additional hours to cover public holidays, annual leave and sickness.
Relevant clinical experience as a Dental Nurse and NEBDN qualification or SVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing are essential along with registration with GDC as a Dental Nurse.
A sound knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a clinical environment are essential as well as the ability to find solutions to problems, deal with the pressure of a diverse clinic whilst retaining excellent and efficient communications skills.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
