THE ROLE
Our products involve the control of motors, interfaces for controlling motion sensing, analogue amplifiers and general GPIO / Sensor interfacing.
The Mechanical Production Supervisor will work as a part of the Workshop Team on fitting mechanical parts and assisting with CNC work.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Manages Workshop Team including authorising Timesheets, any personnel and recruitment needs and answering Engineering questions.
- Receiving BOMs/ MOs/ Drawings from planning section in Department 10 and delegating tasks to appropriate Workshop team members.
- Generating new checklists, Build Procedures and work orders as required.
- Advises purchasing department of items to be purchased.
- Maintains accuracy of Workshop documentation in Open ERP.
- Ensures all products are manufactured to a high standard.
- Passes completed products to Product Completion Department or Qual for testing as appropriate.
- Enables the efficient running of the Department by prioritising workflow.
- Maintains all machinery ensuring it is in good and safe working order.
- Liaises with Production and Design personnel to ensure correct and full drawing information is always maintained.
- Accurately schedules part production.
- Machining and fitting as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education:
- Time Served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in Fitting/ Turning.
Professional Skills:
- Proven experience in fitting
- Experience managing workload of a small team
- Experience working with R & D on projects through to completion
- Ability to plan what steps must be taken ahead of a job starting to achieve the required outcome
- Clear understanding of the production process
- Writing up Build Procedures and check lists
- Ability to work to Mechanical Drawings
- Ability to operate a fork lift would be desirable
- Experience making components on manual Mills / Lathes
- Experience with management of personnel
- Experience with Solidworks would be an advantage
Personal Skills:
- Good computer skills
- Confident working independently and as a part of a team

£30,064.13-£36,000.00 per year
