You will be required to demonstrate first rate leadership qualities, excellent inter-personal and communication skills, have a good level of IT literacy and be an adaptable team player all skills needed to enable you to contribute to the smooth day to day running and development of the department, acting as a role model for team members using effective problem solving skills.

You will have day to day supervision of the staff which will include monitoring of work to ensure we are providing a quality service, where training needs are identified the post holder will assist with the training of staff where required.

You will work closely with our other fabulous team leaders to supervise, support and motivate your team while ensuring the delivery of Service Level Agreements and targets, in return we will support you in developing your skills in this busy, challenging and rewarding role.

You will lead your designated team to ensure the department provides a comprehensive, efficient and high-quality health records and scanning service.

Ensure tasks are completed within the agreed timeframes and help to implement change that will develop and improve the service we provide.

Your main role will be looking at team performance productivity, ensuring daily targets are met, whilst delivering a high quality services monitoring the financial spend with the Assistant Health Records Manager.


  • Responsible for ensuring effective communication with colleagues and peers showing leadership and constructively managing barriers and problem solving.
  • You will take responsibility for the day to day supervision of the department
  • Responsible for setting up a rota for the department, ensuring all staff are fully trained and rotated in each area
  • Coordinate staffs leave arrangements for directly supervised staff, ensuring adequate cover to provide expected level of service, liaising with other team leaders as appropriate to ensure continuity of service.
  • You will monitor staff sickness attendance and take responsibility for completion of relevant return to work paperwork, escalating concerns to their immediate Manager
  • Undertake staff appraisals & staff up to date with Mandatory training
  • Assist with the recruitment selection process as required
  • Responsible for Health and Safety
  • General Admin Duties
  • Responding to external and internal telephone queries from staff, patients and others and referring to appropriate person.
  • Organising incoming post and cages received from across site.
  • Arrange meetings with staff
  • Escalation of missing notes to Directorate
  • Sign off staff timesheets
  • Data entry
  • Maintain stock levels
Shifts include 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm, 12pm - 8pm or 2pm - 10pm.

You will also be required to provide cover at weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
