Job Description:

Morgan McKinley, London is pleased to be supporting a global education provider who has created a Group finance function in the heart of London, Holborn.

Reporting into the Finance Manager within this new and growing Group Finance function, this is an excitingopportunity to play a key role both in the transactional and reporting activity for our Head Office companies.

Responsibilities will range from month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations, to assisting the Finance Manager with overseeing the Accounts Payable team and producing audited statutory accounts.

You will also support the development of both the newly implemented GL (Sage Intacct) and consolidation accounting systems (Oracle).

It is an ideal role for a finalist or newly qualified accountant looking to build on their previous experience in a relevantrole.

Responsibilities:

Managing several multicurrency ledgers. This includes multicurrency journal postings, completing ledger revaluations and monthly FX proof calculations.
Preparation and entry of month end journals in accordance with the timetable (including, but not limited to accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll and multicurrency intercompany postings).
Oversight of the Accounts Payable function (currently four people), including monitoring performance, ensuring timely processing of supplier and other payments, and optimising processes and controls.
Accounts payable and GRNI reconciliations. This will include working with the accounts payable team to help resolve any mismatches as they arise through the month.
Maintenance of fixed asset register and posting of related month end journals.
Reconciliation of intercompany balances, including counterparty confirmations.
Production of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Coordination of the month end close process.
Ownership of monthly management reporting into the Group consolidation system (Oracle)
Managing technical accounting requirements for all Head Office entities.
Prepare and maintain Head Office process notes.
Responsibility for the preparation of certain statutory accounts and year end audit files for Head Office entities to strict reporting timelines.

Requirements for the role:

Finalist or newly qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant
Strong academics
Excellent attention to detail; works accurately and efficiently.
Comfortable dealing with technical accounting for both monthly accounting and for the purposes of

- preparing the statutory accounts.

Builds strong relationships with people at all levels

Salary & benefits
The role of Financial Accountant will pay £50,000 - £55,00 depending on experience, along with bonus and attractive company benefits
