Housing Support Worker

Oxford

Paying up to £ £16.00 per hour

Full time - 4 days per week will be considered

We are recruiting for a Housing Officer, starting as soon as possible.


As a Housing Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting people experiencing homelessness and assist them with the preparation for their move-on into Private Rental sector.

This is an exciting and rewarding role, where you are making a huge difference to improve peoples livelihood.


This role will include engaging with people in support the planning, identification of their strengths and development of opportunities to build their housing resilience in support of their move into new and sustained accommodation.

You will key work a group of clients around Reading City, and be responsible for connecting each client to support packages, and connecting links between agencies and other partners.


You will have experience of housing key working/supporting a case load of people who are experiencing homelessness or living in supported accommodation.

This will include experience and knowledge of mental health issues, drug and alcohol recovery, domestic abuse, young people, etc.

Other key experience needed would be risk assessments, housing legislation, understanding of the benefit system and basic knowledge on the criminal justice system.


Other key skills will include great communication, IT literate, resilience, great report writing, the ability to deal with challenging behavior, and motivate clients.
