united lincolnshire hospitals nhs trust background
    Part time
    Description

An opportunity has arisen for full or part time qualified mammographers, already in possession of a Society of Radiographers, NHSBSP approved certificate of mammography, to join the team in Lincolnshire.

The Lincolnshire Breast Screening Service serves a population of approximately 100,000 women aged between 50 and 71 years.

The service has 3 static units (Boston, Lincoln and Grantham) plus 2 mobile units which rotate through 12 sites across Lincolnshire.

Diagnostic breast imaging services are also provided from Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.

The breast imaging service currently has five Siemens Inspiration Digital Mammography units and three new Hologic Dimensions units with tomosynthesis and stereo biopsy capabilities.

The post holder will be expected to have the ability to travel across the county when required in the provision of the Trust wide service.

A full, valid UK driving licence is therefore essential as our mobile sites are remote and alternative travel options are not easily accessible here in rural Lincolnshire.

In order to support transport requirements, we have departmental pool cars for staff to use for work purposes.

For this role you will hold a degree or equivalent (DCR or BSc Radiography) recognised by the College of Radiographers, an NHSBSP approved post graduate award in Mammography and hold a current registration with the HCPC.

The ability to integrate well with the existing team and a genuine desire to contribute to service development and quality improvement is essential.

A flexible attitude to work is essential.

Due to the nature of the work, mammography posts have a gender protected character.

Our Trust is situated in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire and is one of the biggest acute hospital trusts in England, serving a population of more than 700,000 people.

We provide acute and specialist services to people in Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties.

Our Board have recently agreed a new vision statement - Outstanding Care Personally Delivered - stating their ambition for our Trust to be among the best.

We also have a five year Integrated Improvement Plan setting out how we will achieve our strategic objectives, for patients, services, people and partners, the last recognising that our future success depends on our ability to ensure the Lincolnshire healthcare system is successful in achieving its ambition to help people live healthier lives and provide care closer to where people live.

Our latest CQC report increased our ratings for being effective and well-led from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good'.

This is in recognition of the huge amount of work that our amazing staff have done to improve the quality of care for our patients in recent years.

We are committed to helping our staff balance their work and home lives and ensure they feel supported, valued and appreciated
