We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join the Finance team.
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the accuracy of detailed financial transactions which support the financial performance of the business and maintaining efficiency of Finance Systems across the business.
Our Finance team provide financial reporting, control and accountancy across the business.Your responsibilities in this role would be:
- Day to day responsibility for the transactional activities within sales invoicing, debtors, material costings and timesheets ensuring accuracy of posting and record retention.
- The analysis of financial data to understand the factors driving the results ensuring correct financial statement treatment will be required at differing levels depending on experience and contribution into Departmental Reporting on month end
- Stakeholder communication at equivalent level throughout Business and to Customers/Suppliers
- Operation of some of the key controls within the Financial Reporting and Control team and be responsible for performance and maintenance of associated records for own controls.
- Responsible for preparation and reconciling of audit deliverables to be reviewed, sample support and respond to standard audit queries escalating where needed. Supporting wider audit deliverables as needed.
We are looking for:
- Part qualified AAT or studying towards and ACCA qualification, or at initial stages of training
- Previous experience in a similar role inclusive of journals and reconciliations
- Understanding of financial reporting and processes in a business environment
- Working knowledgeable experience of ERP systems processes and transactions,
- Understanding of basic project management principles for key projects and delivery initiatives
- Good Microsoft Office skills (especially MS Excel)
- Good interpersonal skills and able to build relationships with cross functional stakeholders
