Stock and Quality Controller - £30k - Woodall Spa


Responsibilities:


Compliance and Quality Control:

  • Oversee and manage all compliance paperwork for products, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
  • Lead supplier due diligence efforts to ensure that all suppliers meet our quality and ethical requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance our SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) accreditation compliance to ensure the highest level of food safety and quality.

Stock Management and Ordering:

  • Manage stock levels effectively to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Place orders for stock replenishment, considering lead times, demand forecasts, and storage capacity.
  • Implement efficient stock rotation practices to ensure freshness and product quality.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Onboard new suppliers by coordinating the necessary documentation, agreements, and compliance checks.
  • Nurture and maintain relationships with existing suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolving any issues promptly, and identifying areas for improvement.

Product Sourcing and Negotiation:

  • Identify new and emerging products in the market that align with our brand and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favourable costs, lead times, and shelf life for products.
  • Conduct regular market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitive offerings.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of supplier communications, compliance documents, and quality reports.
  • Generate regular reports on stock levels, product quality, and supplier performance for management review.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience in stock management, quality control, and supplier relationship management within the food and drink industry.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality control standards. Salsa, BRC or above preferable.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build positive supplier relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software (Orderwise Software is desirable) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Salary:
£28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
