Description

We have a vacancy for a Waste Operative based in Mercia Park Swadlincote, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

You'll be working 8am to 4pm and 2pm to 10pm shifts
Your main responsibility will be to work as part of a team on a large site. You must be able to use your own initiative to complete waste duties.
The role requires an element of physical working/manual handling.


Main Duties include:


  • Follow instructions from the Site Waste Re-Cycling Supervisor and Waste Manager, ensuring the correct company policy and procedures are always upheld.
  • To ensure all waste is collected & standards are met to the contract specification.
  • Assist team in waste segregation.
  • General housekeeping standards within the waste recycling centre.
  • Ensuring all external waste points are serviced in accordance with client requirements.
  • Liaise with both OCS and client stakeholders with regards to process improvements.
  • Feedback to Waste Re-Cycling Supervisor regarding any concerns or process failures.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • A full valid driving license is essential
  • use of an OCS flatbed truck (3.5T).
  • Current/valid Forklift counterbalance licence
  • Be flexible to cover our client's other waste sites as required (own transport would be required).
