    Position Summary

    We are looking for an Accounts Payable Buyer to join our finance team in Derby. This is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Assistant Accounts Payable Manager. The role involves performing the tasks of a Buyer in the procure-to-pay process for both UK and International Accounts Payable.

    Duties

    • Review purchase requisitions in Oracle for accurate coding and classification.
    • Convert requisitions to purchase orders after verification or request amendments if needed.
    • Ensure compliance with procurement processes and SOX principles.
    • Collaborate with teams to enhance technology/systems.
    • Analyze supplier data for procurement improvements.
    • Build relationships with vendors and internal customers.
    • Generate reports and work on process improvements.

    Reporting
    - Produce vendor analysis.
    - Extract data for audits and liaise with auditors.
    - Report on expense systems.

    Required Experience

    • Understanding of accounting and General Ledger.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other software.
    • Ability to address issues promptly.
    • Self-motivated and good communicator.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and question conventional methods.

    Preferred Experience

    • Exposure to international operations.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Car driver with Part AAT qualification.
