Electrical technician - Detling, United Kingdom - South East Water
Description
Job information
Are you capable of installing and maintaining electrical equipment and plants?
Do you thrive in difficult situations?
Are you a team player seeking a new challenge?
We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
You will play a key role in keeping the assets at our pumping stations, reservoirs, or production sites in good working order so that we can keep the water flowing for our customers. Few things are more important in our communities than reliable access to clean water for drinking.
You will be electrically qualified and open to learning new things. Knowledge of the water industry would be advantageous but not essential. We'll provide you with training and the opportunity to build on your existing knowledge in areas such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), instrumentation and controls.
You'll go to water treatment and production sites to carry out repairs, respond to failures, monitor contractor activities, and repair faults. You'll maintain and install plant and water treatment equipment including pumps, motors, chemical analysers, and gas dosing equipment.
You will normally work 37 hours each week, from 7.30 a.m. to 15.30 p.m., Monday through Friday. As a critical service, you're needed to work 1 in 6 standby shifts to respond to incidents after hours and on weekends. Earnings are projected to consist of a base salary ranging £33,795 to £44,060 depending one experience in addition to £2,000-per-year average allowance for taking part in the standby rota. You'll be paid overtime for any call outs when on standby.
This role gives you the opportunity for a great work life balance along with the skills and knowledge to develop professionally in the areas that interest you.
What do you get from working at South East Water?
You'll grow a career with a meaningful purpose. Be you, belong and be valued.
What will you be responsible for delivering?
What do you bring to the role?
What can you expect from us?
Everyone needs water, South East Water welcomes everyone.
We know the communities we serve are diverse. We recognise creativity comes from diversity not similarity. That's why we are enthusiastic about creating inclusion across age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion and identity. You will experience our dedication to equal opportunities and fair treatment for all: through your recruitment, employment, and career progression with South East Water.
