About Our Client:


Join a dynamic and award-winning family business located in Skelmersdale They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a well-established and thriving company.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our purchase ledger


Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all purchase ledger accounts are accurate and updated on the system.
  • Record supplier invoices, expenses, and credit card costs accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all costs are properly authorised by the relevant party before payment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of all suppliers and expenses.
  • Record and post all petty cash transactions accurately.
  • Conduct bank reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Match supplier invoices to the correct purchase order (PO) number.
  • Regularly request and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Run Aged Creditors report, flag any credits, identify severely overdue invoices, and identify missing invoices.
  • Ensure a timely response to requests for additional information from suppliers regarding expenses or invoicing.
  • Keep filing uptodate on a weekly basis.
  • Compile information for external auditors as and when required.

The Successful Applicant:


Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in a similar purchase ledger role.
  • AAT qualified would be beneficial however is not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Saffron, Access) is an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
