We're excited to announce an opening for an Alumni Communications Officer at Birkbeck, University of London.

As we enter our third century, we're looking for a dynamic communications professional to help us engage with our global community of over 80,000 alumni and supporters.


  • Salary starting at £37,143 and rising to £44,683 per annum

As our Alumni Communications Officer, you will:

  • Devise and deliver an alumni communications strategy
  • Generate inspiring content across a range of channels
  • Highlight the transformative power of Birkbeck and the impact of our alumni and supporter community
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University to bring to life research, access and student support for an alumni and supporter audience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of fundraising in a charity/Higher Education setting
  • Highly engaging and accurate written communication skills
  • Ability to research, translate and disseminate complex information in a clear and compelling manner
  • Excellent IT skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience of developing, project managing and delivering communications plans.

Remuneration
£37,143 rising to £44,683 per annum, Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale.

The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
