RTA fee earner

A high street practice based in Nelson, Lancashire with opportunities to progress as well as having a great work/life balance and friendly working environment is currently looking to appoint an experienced RTA fee earner to join their strong Personal InjuryDepartment.

The firm is seeking an RTA portal fee earner who can demonstrate:

Working knowledge of RTA claims, MOJ stages 1, 2 & 3 and new OIC portal.
Liaising with client, third parties and solicitors, keeping clients up to date with the progression of their cases, reviewing medical reports, engineers reports, police reports and dealing with correspondence.
Be able to identify cases which would benefit from litigation.
Good communication skills including client awareness and client care.
Ability to manage risk and excellent factfinding skills.
To progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations
To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
Take a practical but commercial approach to settlements and advising clients as to litigation/cost risks.
To achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to, for example, profit costs, settlements and issuing, without compromising the firm's integrity.
To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are proactively progressed.
Perform to a high level in a targetorientated environment.
To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.

Experience:

Previous experience of managing your own caseload of Fast Track RTA Portal claims, or hands on experience of managing tasks relating to such cases
Experience of handling a case load of RTA portal claims is essential and an understanding of the portal process will be highly beneficial.
Excellent negotiator with strong communication skills
Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
Litigation experience will be highly beneficial.
Focus on delivering quality service to clients and the firm
