An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join and work with the Cancer Data Team.

The team plays a major part in the overall patient experience and journey.

We are looking for someone who can work under mínimal supervision to provide an excellent service within our Team.


It is essential that the post holder possesses great attention to detail as this role will involve the cross checking, collating and inputting of a patient's medical condition/information.

You will need to have good communication skills as you will liaise directly with Consultants regarding Cancer patients. This role involves you attending a weekly meeting with the Consultants to type notes/results during the meeting. You do not need to be a typist, but good keyboard skills are essential.

This role can be quite stressful as on occasion you will be working to tight deadlines.

The Department are happy to offer working from home 2 days per week.

There is no patient contact within this role.


You will also have a minimum of 2 years previous administrative experience, ideally with experience of working with databases and understanding data collection processes.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about cancer services and delivering improved outcomes for our patients.

You must be able to organise and prioritise your own workload to meet the requirements of the role, have the ability to function and communicate effectively as part of a team, the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving and identifying situations requiring further advice.

The role will require a high level of data accuracy, good organisational skills, and to be able to prioritise your own workload in order to meet deadlines and ensure high standards of services are maintained.


The post holder will be responsible for the prospective monitoring, reporting and tracking of cancer patients, ensuring that the patient's journey is processed in a timely and efficient manner, in line with the Cancer Waiting Times Targets and Cancer outcomes and services dataset guidelines.
