An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Medicine Care group Management team at Sheffield Children's Hospital as a Waiting list co-ordinator.
The appointee would be managed by the Operational Support Managers in Medicine and will work closely with the Consultants, Operational Support Managers, other Operational Managers & Performance team.
Having the ability to speak directly to families in a professional manner to arrange the patient's operation dates is essential.
The successful applicant will need to have an excellent knowledge of organisational and information management, good interpersonal skills and be willing to communicate with hospital staff at all levels.
Working Relationships:
Communicate with parents/guardians, GP's and other external organisations in relation to enquiries concerning admission dates where on occasion there may be barriers to understanding and/or communication difficulties.
Maintenance of waiting lists:
To be responsible for ensuring all relevant information is accurately recorded on to the Patient Administration and Theatre Systems where attention to detail is essential.
Allocating admission dates:
Analysis of system generated waiting list to identify patients and liaise closely with consultant medical staff to allocate "to-come-in" (TCI) date for patients on their list; ensuring that patients are selected first according to clinical priority and then by length of wait.
Arranging for patients to come in for surgery:
Contact parents to offer TCI dates and ensure relevant documentation is
forwarded to parents/guardians
