The role
As a Security Supply Chain Assurance Advisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

You'll ensure that sensitive information within the Babcock supply chain is protected effectively when supporting and delivering against nuclear and non-nuclear regulations and Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP) contractual conditions for Babcock.


Day-to-day, you'll provide support for the management of the nuclear and non-nuclear supply chain security assurance within Devonport Royal Dockyard Limited (DRDL).

There will be times where you are required to attend areas of the wider Babcock business and the supplier sites supporting the Babcock organisation.


  • Provide coordination and assistance with the nuclear and nonnuclear supply chain security assurance function within Babcock.
  • Use an assurance framework and programmed audit designed to prevent unauthorised access to assets and information across sites, facilities and transport throughout Babcock and its supply chain.
  • Support the coordination, review and optimisation of supply chain security arrangements to ensure compliance with the appropriate legislation, guidance and best practice, both civilian and defence related.
  • Articulate, advise and influence Babcock and its suppliers on their approach to relevant supply chain security standards, policies and requirements, such that they can be analysed, designed, delivered and maintained in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Articulate evidence concerning reduction and elimination of problem areas within supply chain security across Babcock and its external supply chain.
This role is full time 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.


Essential experience of the Security Supply Chain Assurance Advisor

  • Previous experience in procurement and supply chain roles. Assurance and/or Security experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to review policies, procedures and contracts.
  • Works well within a team and maintains strong working relationships with stakeholders
  • Competent use of IT, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience in delivering security within Defence or Critical National Infrastructure
  • Desirable.

Qualifications for the Security Supply Chain Assurance Advisor

  • Formal Assurance/Auditors ISO qualification
  • Desirable.
  • CPNI training or equivalent
  • Desirable.
  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation, such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS),
  • Institute of Supply Chain Management (IoSCM) or the Security Institute
  • Desirable.
