We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of a busy team within the Paediatric Services at Southend Hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to be part of the admin team providing a full range of administrative support to the secretarial team and consultants, including typing and checking clinic letters and booking clinic appointments.

You will be the first point of contact for any enquiries regarding appointments so an excellent telephone manner is essential.

We are a friendly, supportive and hard-working team supporting our patients needs and clinical colleagues at all times. The post holder needs to be an excellent team player with great organisational skills. You will be working alongside other administrative staff in the role. Experience of working within a hospital environment would be an advantage but is not essential.

We are an extremely busy department so excellent organisational skills and flexibility is essential.

The post holders duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • To work as part of a team providing efficient and effective administrative support to the secretarial team and consultants.
  • Checking and typing of clinic letters
  • Arranging and booking of clinic appointments
  • First point of contact via telephone regarding clinic appointments, as well as cancellations and subsequent bookings using our hospital systems
