About the department


Global Private Market Operations is a specialist operational partner providing expertise and support to the Private Markets and Alternatives asset classes and Investment teams whilst using a number of services from the rest of Operations.

Global Private Market Operations supports all alternative and private market asset classes whilst recognising the differences in execution and specialism across different asset classes, clients, geographies and systems.

We also support emerging new and alternative asset classes (including digital assets), and new products combining different Private Markets and/or traditional asset classes.

By bringing these and related activities together, we work together on common initiatives enabling us to become more scalable, efficient and consistent globally.

About the role


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Alternatives & Private Market Solutions, this role carries responsibility for fund control of existing and new product offerings and an element of strategic projects within Alternatives & Private Markets Solutions.

Alternatives & Private Market Solutions consists of an extensive range of funds and mandates covering:

  • alternative investment strategies including traditional fund of hedge fund, our innovative passive fund of hedge fund solutions and other emerging alternative solutions (including exploration and research in digital assets);
  • private market solutions including funds and mandates that span multiple asset classes within Private Markets e.g. private equity, infrastructure, private credit, real estate, and in some cases commingled with traditional publicly listed assets.


The role holder will work closely with other Private Market Operations teams worldwide, the Investment teams and other relevant teams (including appointed administrators and those who help service those relationships) to achieve our goals of excellent service, scalability, efficiency and global consistency.


  • Core Roles and Responsibilities_
  • Fund control for a portfolio of Alternatives & Private Market Solutions funds and mandates
  • Review monthly NAV packages and expense budgets provided by thirdparty administrator to facilitate oversight with respect to fund accounting, financial reporting, and other fund administration areas
  • Review cash daily and maintain information for Investment Committee decision making, credit facility maintenance and invoices, including management and incentive fees which are paid timely
  • Assist with all activity related to the audit, including proper review and follow up with third party administrators and auditors
  • Monitor & implement the FX hedging program of funds and mandates
  • Assist with all activity related to tax compliance including FATCA/CRS related activities, tax forms and filings, as well as proper review and follow up with third party administrators and tax preparers
  • Book and review trades to ensure proper signoff & availability of cash, if applicable
  • Maintain various schedules for internal & external reporting, including the preparation of board packages
  • Ensure proper documentation for reporting to the pricing committee
  • Participate and organize meetings/conference calls with internal groups and third party service providers to resolve any fund issues
  • Maintain effective relationships with external service providers such as auditors and third party administrators to facilitate the completion of these filings and reports in conjunction with others on the Operations team
  • Assist in a variety of compliance related forms, as requested by the compliance team
  • Liaise with internal groups such as: product management, portfolio management, marketing and product development, legal and compliance, and operations
  • Liaise with investors, fund managers and brokers on scheduled deliverables and adhoc requests
  • Use proactive approach to problem solving and projects
  • Make decisions on issues that may arise on financial reporting, operational workflow, valuation, over/under expense accruals, fund accounting. These issues can be resolved through knowledge of industry rules and regulations, understanding of GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements, personal experience, and collaboration with team members, audit staff, and third party administrators
  • Accounting experience in hedge or private market funds, or financial services industry or public accounting. Experience or interest in digital assets would be of benefit.
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, CA)
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP and IFRS desirable)
  • Financial statement preparation and audit experience preferable
  • Prior experience overseeing third party administrators
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ideally knowledge of and experience using Vidrio or eFront but not essential
