We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter at UCL Ifor Evans Halls of Reside.

Location:
University College London

Rate of pay:
£13.79 per hour

Working pattern:40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Key responsibilities
- include a range of tasks related to maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. Delivery checking, loading/unloading, recording data and managing correct storage space.

To complete duties in the kitchen and service areas as directed that are necessary to ensure an efficient, hygienic service is provided.
To assist with food preparation if required.
To transport all food items, cleaning materials and laundry from the delivery area to kitchen storerooms and to kitchen preparation areas as required.
Responsible for the cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, waste bins, hot plates, kitchen equipment, canopies, delivery areas, storerooms, walk in fridges, and all other areas as necessary to ensure an hygienic kitchen and service areas.
To clean, wash, dry and polish all kitchen equipment and service items by hand or machine in an efficient manner.
Operate all necessary equipment.
To operate all heavy equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
Responsible for the correct disposal and any recycling of all rubbish. Kitchen Finance
Check all stock against delivery orders and ensure correct items and correct quantity are delivered.
Account for all stock brought into site and store appropriately to minimise waste and loss
Use equipment carefully to avoid breakage
Fryer oil replacement and correct storage/disposal
Assist in weekly and monthly stocktakes as directed. Health & Safety
To understand and comply with CH&CO and statutory health, hygiene and safety, quality standards including COSHH and HACCP ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with these standards in all areas of the site as outlined in the CH&CO handbook.
Unload, load, lift delivery items. Decant all food items in delivery area and store in the appropriate containers to reduce the chance of cross contamination. All food items to be stored in line with company and health and safety regulations. Relevant paperwork to be completed
To decant all chemical materials delivered to the site to appropriate containers in line with standards.
Use and store all chemicals appropriately in line with standards.
Wear the correct uniform and safety shoes as directed and maintain uniform items appropriately.
Report any equipment and/or building fabric faults and any hygiene,
