Casual Support Worker


Closing Date:

£12.18 per hour rising to £12.38 after successful completion of training and probation period.

Various hours from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4pm.
Some exciting opportunities have arisen in our Learning Disabilities Day Service at Persona for casual support workers.

About you


Whilst previous experience isn't required, we are looking for someone who shares our values and you will be a person with a 'can-do' attitude.

You will have the ability to develop positive relationships with people and be passionate in supporting people to reach their potential.

You'll want to make a positive difference to people's lives and take pride in delivering high quality support.

You'll have a belief that people have a right to control and define their own lives regardless of disability and see your role as enabling them to do this, supporting them to engage in a wide range of activities and opportunities, both in our centres and as members of the wider community.

About the role


You will be working alongside a team of staff in one of our Learning Disability Day Service bases in Bury, mainly covering for holidays and sickness.

The role is flexible, so you can decide when you work.


You will be supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities to do a variety of daytime activities that they choose, either in groups or on an individual basis.

This post is a physical job where you will move and position people, support people with personal care and help adults who use wheelchairs to manoeuvre both indoors and out in the community.

You will also support people to use public transport and to be active members of their local community, through activities such as swimming, voluntary work, dance sessions and sports.
