We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced buyer within a manufacturing environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to purchase materials, components, supplies and services to support the operation.


Key responsibilities

  • Issue purchase orders according to demand and incoming requisition forms
  • Understand production demands to be able to analyse demand and adjust orders
  • Review unacknowledged / late order reports for your vendors
  • Review shortage report and complete necessary actions to avoid production shortages
  • Manage vendor warranty claims
  • Qualify new vendor capacities based on set qualifications and eliminate underperforming suppliers
  • Challenge vendors quotes and drive cost down; report cost reductions

Key Skills

  • 24 years in purchasing role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using an ERP system
  • Proven negotiation skills
