Description
We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our customer care team in Sheffield.

About the Role
At Ossila, our engineers and scientists design and build new, innovative pieces of scientific equipment.

As an established university spin-out company, we pave the way to the next generation of solar cells, displays, and electronics.

As you coordinate sales from prominent universities and scientific research institutions around the world, you will gain new skills that will help you navigate the complicated world of international trade.

Your day-to-day activities will include working with our customer relationship management (CRM) system and other related platforms to:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for our customers throughout the ordering, fulfilment, and aftersales support processes.
  • Prepare customs documentation, commercial invoices, and provide accurate information for customs clearance.
  • Liaise with couriers to ensure quick and efficient delivery, book shipments, and track packages around the world.
  • Keep our records up to date and prepare orders for shipping.
  • Assist with general enquiries and deliver excellent customer service.
As part of a small and fast-growing company, you will work both collaboratively and independently. When required, you will work under your own initiative and take responsibility to solve problems.

About You

  • You have excellent written and verbal English language skills, plus strong interpersonal skills.
  • You have previous experience in a customer service role.
  • You approach your work in an organised, methodical, and diligent way, with excellent record keeping ability.
  • You are confident using Office, including Excel.
  • You can meet strict deadlines and complete a variety of tasks within specified timeframes.
  • You have a keen eye for detail that will ensure our customers receive their orders quickly and accurately.
  • You are a quick learner, have a passion for customer service, and are capable of working in a fastpaced environment.
  • You enjoy being part of a team and foster a collaborative environment through effective communication.
  • You are keen to continue your personal learning and development.

Full training will be provided to give you a practical working knowledge of key aspects of international trade, including tax requirements, delivery incoterms, customs formalities, shipping logistics, sanctions compliance, and more.

Why Work with Us?
Joining our team means you become part of a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and personal growth.

At our Sheffield site, we offer:

  • Competitive salaries with regular performancebased pay reviews
  • A longrunning, discretionary profit share scheme
  • Regular 'tea and cake Tuesdays' where we catch up with each other
  • Free onsite parking with marked bays
  • Secure bike storage and shower facilities
  • Modern, recently renovated office spaces

How We Work
