PURPOSE STATEMENT:


Be a key member of the UK Leadership Team, contributing to the overall business strategy, plans and operating performance and supporting the future development and success of the company.


Play a lead role in the development and communication of the company's future strategies and plans, bringing insight into market dynamics, consumer trends, customer strategies, competitive analysis, industry dynamics and the company's overall position in the market.


Develop, launch and implement an ambitious and compelling Vision, Strategy and Plan for the Marketing function in close collaboration with Sales.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES:


Key deliverables:
The development & communication of a clear, comprehensive, ambitious and aligned Vision and Strategy for Marketing within the business.
Leading and overseeing the effective execution of all aspects of the Marketing strategy, on time and within budget.

The implementation of appropriate measures and metrics to assess and enhance the performance and effectiveness of our insight and innovation programme, the customer experience and the overall effectiveness of the Marketing strategy.

Leveraging digital capabilities to support opportunities for growth and new platform development
A motivated, engaged and inspired Marketing Team with enhanced capability.
Leadership and Team Development

  • Provide leadership, direction, inspiration and coaching to a talented and diverse Marketing Team.
  • Enhance Marketing Team capabilities to deliver outstanding analysis, insight, and creative initiatives that improve business results, engages customers and enhances the overall customer experience.
  • Lead the performance management, talent development, succession planning and associate engagement of the Marketing Team.
Change Management

  • Be the voice of the customer/consumer within the business, challenging assertively and persuasively and influencing decision making based on a customer centric perspective.
  • Support the business in its evolution by helping it understand and learn from other organisations and sectors by bringing external perspectives and developing and implementing ideas and plans to enhance it's overall capabilities and performance.
  • Be a 'thought leader' within the business and within the industry and help position us as the leading industry experts within the Sweet Bakery and TCCS markets.
  • Expand the digital capablities and accelerate 'white space' opportunities
  • Support, lead andn influence busines transformation initiatives and plans

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:


  • Education:
  • Graduate level
  • Intellectually robust & commercially agile
  • Professional experience and track record:
  • Demonstrable experience and ability in influencing and engaging with senior leaders both internally and externally.
  • Experience of strategy development and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and developing high performance teams.
  • Experience in leading change.
  • Food industry experience (ideally food manufacturing)
  • Significant B2B experience and ideally some B2C
  • Experience of Own Label environments and also ideally with some branded / consumer product experience.
  • Development, evaluation and delivery of new business opportunities, delivering substantial revenue and margin growth.
  • Delivering substantial profitable growth through input into the design, development and launch of new products and solutions.
  • Proven success in delivering growth through consumer, customer and market analysis & insight.
  • Significant experience in fast paced, customer centric, high growth environments.
  • Other specific knowledge:
  • In depth understanding of current marketing concepts, strategy and best practice.
  • Know how to shape the narrative around developing reputation and company brand.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, broad business understanding, including sales, product development, finance, operations and procurement.
  • Managing external agencies and partner relationships
  • Budget control and management
