This post is for a full time, Band 7 Reporting Sonographer in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.Part time hours may be considered.
We currently require a suitably qualified person to join the team of Sonographers in our busy Ultrasound department. The service is located within Radiology at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. We perform a wide range of Ultrasound investigations.
Prince Philip Hospital is friendly and sociable where new staff are made very welcome, both in the Ultrasound department as well as in the wider Radiology team.
Applicants must be a Registered Health Professional with an appropriate post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and evidence of relevant experience.
Applicants must have sound professional knowledge of imaging modalities (e.g. ANC/TV scanning, Non-obstetric scanning).
You must possess excellent communication/organisational skills, be tactful, diplomatic and able to work alone and as part of a team in this busy department.
To provide high quality ultrasound services, using professional judgement, skills and experience.
To authorise and undertake ultrasound investigations on patients using the referral information, clinical condition and information obtained from the patient directly as a basis for examination required.
Assesses, develops and implements specialised ultrasound procedures.
Plan and manage own work-list and undertake independent reporting on examinations.
Interprets, diagnose and report a range of conditions by examining patients using methodical surveys of relevant structures in at least two planes and produce diagnostic images, which are clearly and accurately labelled.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
