  • We are currently hiring a Non-Financial Risk Consultant to join our team.
In this role, you will support the Operational Risk Managers in the monitoring and oversight of non-financial risk across LGRI, providing independent risk advice and guidance to the business and delivering effective 2nd line challenge to ensure that the operational risk frameworks, policies and processes are embedded, enabling relevant areas to operate in accordance with regulatory standards, industry best practice and applicable Group Standards

What you'll be doing

  • Providing operational risk advice and guidance to the business on new projects, products, services and other initiatives, developing and influencing changes where required, to ensure they are designed to deliver good customer outcomes and operate within agreed risk appetites.
  • Supporting the management of nonfinancial risk frameworks for providing second line oversight of primarily operational risk matters with the potential to provide support on conduct risk related matters too. In addition, ensuring other NFR areas data protection, IT, financial crime are considered and appropriate coordinated across the wider NFR team, to ensure the business manages its risks effectively.
  • Preparing risk reports and MI packs for review and sign off as required in LGRI Nonfinancial Risk and organise distribution of reports and coordinate actions taken from governance forums, to ensure there is clear visibility of risks and issues and that actions are tracked to completion
  • Providing advice and guidance on PLM activity (Product Proposition and Fund Lifecycle Management) in support of key projects and product developments.
  • Providing second line challenge to the business on their approach to managing operational (and where required conduct) risks and undertaking proactive and targeted risk and control assessments and Spotlight Reviews to ensure that they are regularly reviewing and updating their policies and processes to deliver good customer outcomes and operate within agreed risk appetites.
  • Analysing proposed regulatory changes and provide advice, guidance and education to the business on the impacts of these proposals, providing input to consultations and implementation activity so that relevant operational and conduct risks are identified and managed effectively.
  • Overseeing and supporting the business on timely responses of significant risk events, ensuring objective challenge to remediation and root cause analysis and similar areas of potential failure for proactive management.
  • Supporting oversight and guidance to international businesses to ensure that LGRI's international growth strategy is delivered in a way that is aligned to LGRI divisional standards and manages operational risk to within acceptable tolerance.
What we're looking for

  • Good awareness of the wider business and regulatory environment and ability to understand the potential impacts of market and regulatory changes on the Group.
  • Good understanding of the principles of risk management, especially in relation to operational, regulatory and customer focused risks.
  • Experience of the management of operational or conduct risks.
  • Experience in the preparation of Reports for Management, including Data Analysis and MI reporting, scheduling and coordination with multiple parties.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and assess issues in the context of the overall risk profile.
  • Strong initiative and capability to identify and investigate operational risks.
  • Strong ability to generate and manage own workloads through interactions with the business.
  • Strong ability to challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • Effective networker to build relationships across the business.
  • Good communication skills, independent thinker.
