What we're looking for:

Peabody are recruiting for a Specialist Support Worker to join the Complex Needs Hostel service. Do you have;

The ability to work flexibly (evenings and/or weekends) and outside contracted hours where required;

Drivers licence and access to own vehicle;

The ability to utilise professional, personal or lived experience to engage with people with complex needs on a personal level and promote independence, wellbeing and inclusion of customers;

The ability to provide outreach support to encourage people to access treatment, health and accommodation services and to support individuals to better manage their emotional and personal wellbeing;

The ability to provide information on Welfare Benefit and liaise with Social Services, the housing department, the police, drugs & alcohol treatment services etc;


If you do, this role is perfect for you Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Specialist Support Worker on a permanent basis at our Complex Needs Hostel Service in Southend on Sea.


A bit about the role:


As a Specialist Support Worker you will be delivering high quality and effective support services based at a complex needs hostel providing assertive outreach support to encourage people who have been traditionally hard to engage into treatment, health and accommodation services and to support individuals in gaining adequate information that enables them to make informed choices about their lives and also to better manage their emotional and personal wellbeing.

Some of the key results for the role include:

To_ _provide support and advice in relation to housing and homelessness issues, benefit claims and advice, building skills to manage debts and budgeting, accessing community support groups, health and wellbeing services;

To promote the independence, wellbeing and inclusion of customers whilst complying with Peabody's policies and procedures and the principles of good practice;

To engage with and encourage people who have been traditionally hard to engage into treatment, health and accommodation services and to support individuals in gaining adequate information that enables them to make informed choices about their lives and also to better manage their emotional and personal wellbeing;


The service operates Monday to Sunday and the possible shifts are: 7am - 3pm, 9am - 5pm, 1pm - 9pm and 2pm - 10pm.

This role also involves street outreach and will include early shifts starting at 7am and late shifts finishing at 10pm.


_ This role will require an Enhanced DBS check and a driver's licence and access to a vehicle._
