This is an excellent opportunity to work for MSEFT within our Urology Service either at full time (10 PAs) or less than full time, with the opportunity to develop a subspecialty interest to compliment the department.

Successful applicants will be based at Southend but expected to work flexibly with colleagues across MSE.


There are opportunities to develop stone surgery, novel BPH treatments, endoscopic management of bladder tumours, including TULA, and advanced diagnostics.

AAC Interview date to be 4th May.


Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) at time of interview.

Evidence of completion of specialist training or equivalent.

To provide consultant level Urology on call duties (1 in 10) based at Southend.

This will include on-site daytime cover and post take ward round with a consultant of the week model providing continuity of care.

To perform independent elective and emergency operating including day case surgery

To provide outpatient clinic service; this may include minor procedures.

To undertake specialty clinics and participate as a core member in Urology MDTs.

Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences.

Any responsibility which relates to a special interest.


Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff including the observance of local employment and human resource policies and procedures.


Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity, locally and nationally.

To provide clinical care for patients referred to Urology at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

To contribute to the development, compliance and professional requirements of Trust priorities and policies.

To actively participate in the supervision and training of a multidisciplinary work force in the Urology Department.
