About us:

Welcome to London's global university, where research transforms lives.

We are second in the UK for research power, tackling some of the world's greatest challenges:

from developing ground-breaking cancer treatments, helping people out of poverty, acting on climate change, improving children's mental health, championing equality and diversity and protecting human rights.

We attract investment from across the world and generate £10bn a year in UK economic activity.

UCL has seen unprecedented success in the volume of successful grants in recent years. This, alongside growth in complexity of the international research environment, has increased demand on UCL's in-house contracting teams.

In response to this growth and complexity, and as part of a suite of strategic changes to UCL's research and innovation support, we are investing in a programme of transformation around UCL's research and innovation contracting.

The programme is in the early stages of a three-year transformation, beginning with capacity building, analysing existing processes and ways of working and looking at opportunities to deliver quick wins for the research and innovation community and contracting teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the early stages of a high-profile change (called out in UCL's

Strategic Plan).

About the role:

We are actively seeking a dedicated Programme Support Officer to play a pivotal role in driving essential service improvement initiatives across a diverse spectrum of programme endeavours.

Working in close collaboration with the Director of Contract Services Transformation, Programme Manager, and our dynamic transformation team, you will be immersed in a bustling and gratifying environment focused on change.

As the Contracting Transformation Programme takes shape and implements enhancements to processes, methodologies, and systems, you will provide invaluable project support throughout the entire lifecycle - from conceptualization and design to implementation and ongoing evaluation.

This high-impact position demands a dynamic mindset and a readiness to adapt within a newly formed and rapidly expanding team.

You'll have ample opportunities for personal growth and skill development, gaining first-hand experience in supporting change management, project coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You thrive on driving tangible service improvements and possess innate organizational abilities. Your assertiveness and adept management of plans, schedules, and tasks make you indispensable in navigating our fast-paced environment.

Operating within UCL's Scaled Agile (SAFe) framework, you'll also gain valuable exposure to agile delivery methodologies, further enhancing your professional repertoire.
