The Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology undertake world-leading research and teaching in mind, behaviour, and language.

About the role:

The appointee will work as a Research Associate on a study developing an image-based mental health measure for young people.

The work will involve a systematic review of existing image-based mental health measures, a community-based participatory action research study over a series of workshops to develop the measure with young people, and a think-aloud interview to understand how young people interpret and respond to an early version of the measure.

There will be close working with young person peer researchers and co-researchers and other members of the team, including software developers.

The lead of the project is Julian Edbrooke Childs. This is a fixed-term role available for 20 months. This is a part-time role available at 0.5FTE.

The appointee will work towards the goals of an MRC-funded research project, supporting the PI and team members and contribute to the running of the project.

They will conduct aspects of the different components of the project, including the systematic review, community-based participatory action research, and qualitative study.

They will recruit young people, co-researchers and mental health practitioners for research and focus groups and support young people experts by experience in conducting the research.

They will conduct interviews and analyse findings, and contribute to the presentation of the findings along with other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager.
