RM Recruit are excited to be working with a brilliant not-for-profit organisation based in Birmingham who are seeking a reliable and diligent Site Maintenance Assistant to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.
It is essential that the postholder possess a valid enhanced DBS certificate to be considered for this role.
As a Site Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of their facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the facilities are in optimal condition. This includes conducting inspections, identifying maintenance needs, and addressing minor repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and repair of various equipment, such as HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Cleaning and Upkeep: Support the cleaning and upkeep of the premises, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces. This involves sweeping, mopping, dusting, and ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for staff, students, and visitors.
- Groundskeeping: Assist with the maintenance of the outdoor areas, including lawn care, gardening, and landscaping tasks.
- Safety and Security: Collaborate with the site maintenance team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures. Identify potential hazards and report any safety concerns promptly.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for site maintenance activities. Coordinate with the designated personnel for timely restocking and procurement.

Provide support for special projects, renovations, or upgrades as assigned by the site maintenance supervisor or relevant personnel.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with the site maintenance team, administrative staff, and other employees to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, and any other relevant information using appropriate tools or software.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified to at least GCSE Level
- Good numeracy/literacy skills
- DBS Certificate
- Prior experience in site maintenance or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as part of a team.
- Experience of working in a customer facing environment

£11.00-£13.00 per hour
