- Undertake laboratory experiments as required by the project and analyse/report data (presentations, verbal and written report)
- Develop monogenetic disease modelling for the evaluation of oligonucleotides

The project aims to develop personalized antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapy for beta-propeller protein-associated neurodegeneration (BPAN), a rare early onset disorder affecting neuronal function. The researcher will work on the developing in vitro cell based models to evaluate the impact of oligonucleotide treatment on important cellular functions autophagy. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong work ethic, knowledge of in vitro modelling with hiPSC-derived neurones and to be experienced in cell and molecular biology. The NATA employee will be seconded to work full-time in the laboratories of Professor Manju Kurian and will interact with the research team led by Dr Haiyan Zhou, all based at the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health, London. /*generated inline style */ Person Specification 1
