Digital Content Designer - Outside IR35

Contract Term:
End of March 31/03/23 (Extension Likely)

Contracting Authority:
UK Shared Business Services Limited (BEIS UK SBS)

Location:
Remote/Hybrid - Swindon


UK SBS provides a variety of BPO shared services and business IT services to a range of clients including Government Depts and ALBs.

We are currently engaged in two major ERP replacement programmes to replace legacy on premise Oracle systems with SaaS solutions.

One programme is currently in implementation and we are seeking a UX lead to create a consistent focus and approach to SaaS ERP user experience and interaction.

This covers all end users and places a premium on efficiency, speed, availability and intuition.


The Digital Content Designer specification is outlined as follows:

User-centred

  • Skilled at conducting user needs research and translating insights into UX/UI design solutions for SaaS ERP solutions (Oracle Fusion or equivalent).
  • Use data to inform decisions to develop prototyping and testing using agile methodology.
  • Have a thorough understanding of operational business processes, preferably in a Shared Service Centre environment.

Cross-functional designer

  • Move fluidly between UX and UI design, understanding the ERP omni channel opportunities to help create and define user experiences from strategy to development.
  • Ability to design for a specific scenario while thinking about how those elements could scale and be used to link tasks across functional areas to reduce effort.
  • Ability to consider, assess and define applied automation and digital assistants and identify how these change, modernise and make more efficient the overall service experience.

Tech and business

  • Understand how to integrate business and technology goals with user needs into innovative design solutions and be content to push the UX boundaries and give interactions personality.
  • Ideally have experience or understanding of a shared service operation or the transferable skills required to operate within one.

Strong communicator

  • Can explain ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and at all levels both within UK SBS and across the client base.
  • Communicate respectfully when challenging assumptions and have an open mind when receiving feedback.

Growth and opportunity mindset

  • Willing to lean in and maintain a positive attitude in the face of ambiguity and change.
