Are you a passionate, dedicated Children Residential Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Childrens Residential Worker to join a team based in Hendon.
- £15 per hour (£60 sleep in shift fixed rate)
05/02/ months initially
Rota basis working days, sleep ins and weekends
This is a newly opened children's home based in Hendon. Its is one bed home, supporting only 1 young person
The role:
- To ensure that the young person's needs are recognised and met.
- To use the home as a model to support and develop the social skills of the young person.
- Care for the young person when they are ill and, where necessary, administer medicines, drugs and treatment under the guidance of the child's medical practitioner.
- To participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the individual young person's care plans.
- In accordance with plans for the day, to organise and supervise recreational and leisure activities both in and out of the home to provide the young person with an interesting and stimulating life. This includes being prepared to spend time away from home on holidays and at camps etc.
- Protect the young person from harm in and outside the home.
- Exercise responsible control over the young person to ensure their safety and wellbeing and assist them in developing acceptable standards of personal hygiene and behaviour.
- Ensure that the home provides an environment that is safe and sensitive to the needs of young person being looked after.
- Perform household duties as required. This includes cooking and general cleaning, sorting laundry, checking the bedroom and encouraging them to keep their rooms tidy.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, social workers, schools and other professionals concerned with the welfare of the young person.
- To work in a small team in order to support and implement the development of the children's home.
- Maintain up to date records and care plans.
- To attend meetings and training as required.
Requirements:
- Must have experience of working in a children's home (at least 1 year), supporting children and young people
- Experience in child assessments and care plans
- Competent IT skills for using electronic systems
- Be flexible to work evenings and weekends in unpredictable working conditions.
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS
